Prostart Competition
6 GI-TEC Students attended the Prostart competition with the cake decorating team placing second overall.
The Michigan Prostart Competition was held March 10-11, 2024 in Kalamazoo, roughly 400 students from Michigan schools competed in eight categories ranging from cake decorating to management and tabletop design. Six GI-TEC students attended the competition and competed in ServSafe Quiz Bowl, Pasta, and two teams for Cake Decorating. One cake decorating team placed 2nd overall and earned a trip to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island to help in the pastry shop during their opening weekend. Congratulations to all students!
