BPA students — The GI-TEC Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter is headed to Grand Rapids for the State Leadership Conference! Our talented students will compete in different assessment events alongside students from more than 100 schools across Michigan. The top state finalists will earn the opportunity to advance to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee! The Workplace Skills Assessment Program is a key part of BPA, giving students the chance to showcase the skills they’ve developed through their business education. Best of luck to our GI-TEC students as they represent our school and put their workplace skills to the test!

Congratulations Katerin! — Katerin earned 1st Place in Knife Cuts at the Michigan ProStart Competition, showcasing her precision and talent on a statewide stage. From flawless fine julienne to beautifully executed chiffonade cuts, she truly shone while representing GI-TEC with skill and confidence. We are so proud of her dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence in the culinary arts. Congratulations, Katerin!

With a highly experienced staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and over 20 programs, career preparation is made easy. Kharman Loya

Kharman Loya - Mt. Pleasant: It is my absolute pleasure to nominate Kharman Loya as the Business Management Student of the Month! Kharman's dedication to her school, community and her family is incredibly admirable. She is selfless and compassionate. She is willing to give her time and talents in a variety of ways. Just in the last week alone she assisted with a softball clinic for young students and also donated her time working the Rotary Club Beef Dinner. Kharman has been involved with Student Senate, Business Management, 4-H and Interact throughout high school.<br/>She was inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. Kharman has also served as a co-op in the MPHS main office for two years. She was recently asked to participate in the Leadership Luncheon for 30 Future Leaders. She does not lack involvement! Kharman's leadership is very strong. Any project Kharman is involved in will be well thought out, organized, and great attention will be given to detail. I never have to worry when Kharman is in charge-her projects are planned out with precision and carried out with professionalism and enthusiasm. Kharman has helped make the Business Management program stronger and more beneficial for students. I could not ask for a better role model for future Business Management students. Charlie Zamarron

Charlie Zamarron - Ashley: I am proud to nominate Charlie Zamarron, an 11th-grade student from Ashley Schools, for Student of the Month. Charlie consistently demonstrates exceptional character, responsibility, and trustworthiness in the Interior Design classroom. She possesses a remarkable work ethic; whenever a project is assigned, she reviews the material immediately to ensure she understands the concepts and gets right to work. Her commitment to improving her technical skills is evident in her enthusiasm for hands-on projects and her ability to think creatively. Beyond her academic success, she is a joy to teach. She arrives with a positive attitude, is always willing to help her peers, and serves as a "calming light" in our class. Her initiative makes her a standout student in our CTE program. Wesley Chaffee

Wesley Chaffee - Sacred Heart: Wesley is the nicest, most polite young man you will ever meet. His positive attitude is contagious. In the Automotive lab he is always working on something. He is a "self-starter" and immediately looks for the next challenge. If he is done with a task he is quick to ask what is the next. The GI-TEC purchased a new Tire Pressure Monitoring System scanner this year. Wesley taught himself how to use it and then taught Mr. Wiles how to use it. All of his class work is completed to the highest standards. He has demonstrated a high level of commitment to excellence in the automotive industry. Wesley is really a pleasure to have in the Automotive program at the GI-TEC. Center. He represents the very best of what our center stands for: hard work, technical curiosity and a genuine respect for people around him. Nominating Instructor: Perry Wiles, Automotive Instructor

Olivia Morey

Olivia Morey - Shepherd: Olivia is a junior from Shepherd High School who is currently in her first year of the Educational Careers program, and she has truly been a joy to work with. She is currently serving as a cadet teacher at Shepherd Elementary, where she shines each and every week. Olivia is an outstanding, well-rounded student who consistently demonstrates strong leadership skills and gives 100% effort to every task she takes on. She is kind, friendly, caring, and an exceptional role model for both her peers and the elementary students she works with. I am so grateful to have Olivia as part of our amazing program, and there is no doubt she will be a tremendous asset to any classroom in the future. Her elementary students adore her, and her host teacher absolutely loves working with her. When she is not in the classroom Olivia enjoys hanging out with her family, cooking, shopping, hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Nominating Instructor: Amy Schell, Educational Careers

Breanna Clewley

Breanna Clewley - Fulton High School: Breanna is a first year firefighting student at the Alma Campus. She is a Junior at Fulton High School. Breanna always displays a positive attitude. SHe is helpful and gets along well with other classmates. Her work is always high quality and turned in on time. Breanna shows a high level of commitment to her firefighting class, even when her home school does not send students, she arranges a way to be present and show up. Breanna works hard and excels in the firefighting class. Nominating Teacher: Mr. March, Public Safety
